    A Magical Day in Vorarlberg

"We loved the walk up the Hoher Freschen with our kids. We hiked up and had snacks at the Freschen Hütte right at the top. Even in June we walked over snow to reach the summit. The 360-degree view was amazing, as was the small chapel on the way down. We saw a farm on the way down and the farmer took our boys to show them newly born twin calves. It was the most magical experience for our sons aged 9 & 6. They have never forgotten it. Vorarlberg is so peaceful and scenically spectacular, we love it."

    Käsespätzle and Skiing in Lech

"I would definitely recommend other travellers to try the Austrian cuisine and dishes like Käsespätzle or Kaiserschmarren. In Lech, I would also recommend to walk from Lech to Zug along the river... the landscape is just stunning! I would also recommend to ski the so-called Weisse Ring which takes you round Lech and Zürs."

Enjoy One of Austria's Best Wines at a Local Buschenschank in Styria

"Visit a vineyard with a Buschenschank. In my opinion, Austria's best wines come from that region."-- Joakim, Uppsala (Sweden)

The Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg

"The Sound of Music tour was fabulous. Also loved the architecture in both Salzburg and Vienna. Absolutely stunning!"-- Caroline, Keith

Ropeways and Austria's Best Cocktails in Zell am Ziller, Tirol

"Zell is in a lovely sunny wide part of the Ziller valley, where 3 different mountain ranges meet so lots of variety in walking - but our favourite is to head for the most eye-catching rock face above the village - the Gerlosstein. Take a cable car up to its foot and then its a fairly easy walk up to the 2,100 m high point for views that stretch from the Inn valley to the high ridge along the Italian border; or alternately be brave and take the direct route up the face, via the 380 m long fixed ropeway of the Klettersteig. Then back to the hospitality of Zell - our favourites are the Hofer's Wirtshäusl for its great food and service, and the Englhof for its official 'best cocktail bar in Austria' award. Looking forward to our next visit already."

A Little Piece of Heaven in Hallstatt, Upper Austria

"As we turned a corner and first caught sight of the incredibly beautiful village of Hallstatt, we knew we’d found our little piece of heaven on earth. There is nowhere more beautiful in all of Europe. The high peaks of the Alps, clear blue waters of the lakes and the magical way in which both meet, bring the most breathtaking scenery imaginable."

Travelling from Vienna to Innsbruck with the ÖBB

"There are few, if any, places in the world which can beat my homeland, Scotland. Austria is the exception. The people are friendly, the food is great, the scenery out of this world and the public transport is simply envious. I cannot recommend highly enough ÖBB for getting from city to city or town to town. We have travelled with them from Germany to Tirol and back on several occasions and it is one of the highlights of the holiday."

A Hike Up Damülser Mittagsspitze in Mellau, Vorarlberg

"We went for a hike from Mellau to Damüls. Just before ascending for the peak we decided to have a lunch break on a bench and got some curious cows that visited us on our break. The hike to the Damülser Mittagsspitze peak is challenging but has such an amazing view as a reward."

"We were taught to drive racing cars at the Red Bull Ring by a retired Formula 1 star - it was an awesome day on the track!"-- Ben, Essex

A Family Holiday in the Tux Valley, Tirol
